CLIENT
Xstrata Copper
PROJECT
Mining Camp
CONTRACT VALUE
$10 million
CONTRACT PERIOD
20 weeks
The first Stage of this project was to design, supply and install 120 accommodation rooms with associated laundries. The 40 accommodation buildings were 14.4 long x 4.2 wide, three-person living quarters which featured spacious living areas, en-suites, cantilevered awnings and external roller shutters to match the building aesthetics. The accommodation buildings were delivered to site fully furnished. Towards the end of the initial contract the client added additional works to MBSs scope. This included an additional 45 four-person living quarters to the same specifications but on a hire agreement. Ernest Henry Mining also requested an extension to their existing kitchen/dining facility. The scope of works was to design, supply and install 12 kitchen modules within 12 weeks. MBS successfully delivered and installed the kitchens to the site two weeks earlier than expected. More importantly, the buildings exceed the clients expectations on quality. Further works were then also included within MBSs scope. This included demobilization and removal of 22 existing camp buildings and the retro fitting of 25 counter levered awnings and privacy panels to existing buildings. MBS worked closely with the client on all aspects of the project to ensure the clients expectations and requirements were met.
